Sometimes you can’t explain what something does, but you see the results over time. For example, you can take a vitamin which seemingly has no power by looking at it, yet, once you take it for a while you see and experience visible results. Similarly, the Bible says the word of God is ACTIVE (Hebrews 4:12). The word of God changes us from the inside out—spirit, soul, and body.
“For the word of God is alive and active.” Hebrews 4:12b
Consistently implementing God’s words into your life will transform your mind.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Even if you feel nothing, it doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Something is changing within you.
I heard a pastor say once, “If you brush your teeth, you’ll have fresh breath for a while, but the next day your breath will stink! The same is true with renewing our minds. We may go to church and be refreshed and renewed, but the next day, our thoughts can start to stink! This is why it’s important to be in the Word every day.” Going to church is vitally important. But if we want to mature as Christians, it’s up to us to also “renew our minds” day-to-day! We don’t have to come into church completely depleted from the week.
“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” Jude 1:21
You aren’t meant to handle life by your own mental capacity alone. We need God’s help! How much has our society been dealing with a lack of peace? We need answers. We need our minds to be renewed, not by scrolling, not by the News, but by TRUTH. I encourage you to spiritually “brush your teeth” by taking even 5 minutes a day to read the Bible. It will change the way you think.
“You will keep in perfect peace whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3.
Much love, dear!
