Jesus and the Enneagram.

“Have you taken the Enneagram?”

It’s the question we’re all asking.  From Instagram accounts to books to online articles, there are many ways to identify your “type” and uncover intricate details of human personification in the pages of these descriptions. It’s wild!
While I find these informative, intriguing, and helpful in gaining an understanding of others, sometimes discouragement arises while delving in. For instance, the other day, after reading articles regarding the Enneagram, I found a podcast on the topic.  Eagerly ready to gain more insight, the words spoken began to greatly affect me.  I found myself becoming progressively discouraged. It wasn’t helping to hear over and over. I believe researching the Enneagram has positive outcomes, but I also believe we need to guard what we are hearing and speaking about ourselves, especially in regards to limitations.  God has asked me to do things out of the “4” comfort zone many times!

I stopped listening, not because I’m afraid of the truth, but because I know that isn’t the whole truth.

I don’t look at the deficits. I look at what I have in Jesus.

Be careful about putting limitations on yourself based on an analysis of your personality. God doesn’t see you as broken. You are remarkably and wonderfully made. He can restore.

His Word heals broken parts of our life, renewing the way we think.  We look to the restorer, the healer. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Don’t speak words over you that don’t line up with His words about you.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Romans 12:2a

Much love, friends!
